Many years ago, when I was a senior in high school, my friends and I decided to skip school for an afternoon. We came up with a plan to write fake permission slips to excuse each of us from class, so we could all meet at a friend’s house and watch movies.
It might not have been the brightest idea we’d ever had, but also fairly harmless in the big picture. However, I had a big problem; my mother’s handwriting was noticeably different than anyone else’s. Her handwriting was absolutely perfect – like right out of a handwriting textbook. Mine was not!
Since it was impossible to write myself a permission slip, I missed out on the fun with my friends that day. Not a big deal, right? But what about you? Where are YOU missing out? In what are of your life are you waiting for a permission slip?
Do you yearn to find a more satisfying job, leave a toxic relationship or go on an exciting adventure? Do you dream of starting your own business, going on a mission trip or learning a new skill?
What we do stems from who we are – or who we think we are. Unfortunately, most women don’t know who they really are. They believe things about themselves that aren’t true, and those things cause resistance to being who they’re created to be and doing what they’re created to do.
If you’ll give yourself permission to declutter your beliefs and discover who you really are, you’ll be amazed at what you can do.
Pursue your dreams, but first, give yourself permission to be YOU.
