WOW! Graduate
The once rough grass becomes rich and inviting. Bare tree branches sprout green leaves. Warm, spring rains coupled with sunlight create beautiful, arching colors in the sky. Robins chirp a jubilant song. Flowers bloom and true beauty overtakes our precious earth. And that sunshine – oh that SUNSHINE!
If you are at all like me, you’ve had a case of the winter blahs these past few months and the thought of this new season being here (for good) has put a little spring in your step! Am I right? My mood is not only uplifted with the promise of sunshine, longer days and warmer weather, but I am more energetic, motivated and ready to take on the world (like Wonder Woman)!
We read in Isaiah (61:11) “For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.” As the revival and restoration of our earth’s blessings are happening right before our eyes, God is working behind the scenes in each one of us to revive and restore us in ways that He knows we need. Just as it is impossible for the new season to go unnoticed, the way God is working within us will not be unnoticeable, but will be done for all the world to see!
Spring is a time of new beginnings.
The dead comes to life again. Gloom is replaced with light. It is so easy to get so wrapped up in the busy-ness of life that we forget to enjoy what is happening around and within us. Take the time to feel the spring breeze against your face, taste the raindrops in your mouth, see the glorious colors of the sunset and stop to smell the flowers.
God has planted seeds within you that need cared for just as you would care for your garden. Water them with scripture, till them with worship, prune them with prayer, sow them with faith, hope and love – and watch! Growth will be inevitable.
