Your Perfect Father’s Day

My husband and I are extremely fortunate to have our families in town, and so most Sunday evenings we get together for dinner. A few weeks ago my husband was outside grilling for one of those family dinners, and it started to rain. Our son threw on his raincoat and went out to help, holding an umbrella over him as they talked.

This was a natural response because of the kind of relationship they have; they love each other, help each other and enjoy spending time together. Their camaraderie is the result of making their relationship a priority, for many years.

This can be a great reminder of the relationship we’re created to have with God, our Heavenly Father.

Do you know that God makes a relationship with you a priority? He wants to spend time with you, to talk with you and listen to you. That’s because He loves you and wants nothing but the best for you. (Jeremiah 29:11).

The question, is do you make your relationship with Him a priority? Do you talk with Him (through prayer) and seek to hear what He says (through the Bible)? Do you sing His praises and gather together with others who focus on their relationship with Him?

If not, this Father’s Day, make your relationship with God a priority. After all, He’s the only PERFECT Father, and, He’s YOUR Father.
